The Moorings

Dec 8, 2016
Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, with temperatures in the mid 80,s  and sunny(just saying...) and a boat parade today. Had a good vantage point as we sat on deck with mild temperatures and a nice breeze, along with our favorite libations . The myriad of boats small and large, with light displays, decorations, carolers and of course Santa Claus made their way down the channel and back.

We moved to a mooring field just a short distance from Moss Marine, they no longer take boats for more than a day or two, and lots of changes going on. Looks like they are gearing for the small motorboat sales/rentals. With this being the peak of tourist season here, there is nothing available, besides there is only two marinas that can accommodate our draft, so that narrows down the choices.
We are only a 5 minute ride to the dingy dock under the  Matanzas bridge. There is laundry, bath, and wi-fi. With solar and occasional generator use we are able to maintain our batteries charged, and with 285 gallons of water we can be quite comfortable off grid for a while.

Had a surprise visit from Bruce and Nita from Carrabelle, went out to eat and had a wonderful  time. We have made some wonderful friends in our travels, thank God for this privilege.
