Happy New Year to all

Our Christmas tree... space is at a premium on a boat

So this is Christmas... The wonderful mild weather continues, sunny days and clear nights. Spent a quiet Christmas eve onboard, thinking of all our loved ones, listen to music, and doing ... Hey, it is island time, don't you know it?  Don't know exactly what we did, but it took all night to celebrate and ponder on the meaning of the season. I wonder how many wished Jesus a happy birthday...
Christmas Day we went out to dinner at Nervous Nellies. Enjoyed a good meal dock side, with live music and a peaceful time.

Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!

New years eve we rode the trolley to town looking for Kathy’s traditional black eyed peas, but they were no where to be found. We decided on lentils, yeah, if you look hard enough there is a resemblance, besides it goes with cabbage rolls.
The ride back to the island was interesting, the trolley was full, well over capacity, with revelers. All these dressed to party, complete with noise makers and party hats.
Traffic was bumper to bumper, and how all these people and vehicles fit in this small island is beyond me, Just glad we can be on the boat away from these crazy crowds for this new year celebration. We welcomed the new year aboard and enjoyed a magnificent fire works display.
New years day, a fellow cruiser having heard of our plight in the search for the elusive black eyed peas, dropped us off a can, making Kathy’s traditional meal possible. So guess what we had for new years dinner... black eyed beans and cabbage rolls.
We invited Jeffery, a Dutch cruiser who we met here a few days ago, he has asked if he can tag along on our way south.
