Well the adventures continue ... Scuba diving and snorkeling. around Isla Mujeres is unforgettable. The Manchones Reef begins just off of Isla’s shore and the Cuevones and Banderas Reefs are close by. The waters are calm and clear, with up to a 1.5 kt current.
Captain Courtney navigates towards the dive site about 5 km away, looking for a good place to beach.
We have enjoyed snorkeling at various site and have seen sharks, barracuda, turtles and many more. The clear waters and rich aquatic life are perfect for exploring below the water line. So off we go on the dingy with dive gear, food and drink to spend the day diving.
Had an enjoyable ride out to open water, with the added thrill of an encounter with an aggressive charter boat that almost swamped us. Courtney found a nice, desolate piece of coarse white sand beach on the northwest side of Sac Bajo Peninsula, a perfect place to set-up our gear.
After safety checks we are ready to visit the wonderful under water world. Went down with Jeffery and Courtney, saw many fish and had a great time sucking air out of a bottle. At an average depth of 20 ft. and less than1 kt current, this was a great adventure and experience for Courtney, she did very well, even helped me get to the beach after a painful leg cramp.

On the northwest side of the island on the Peninsula of Sac Bajo is Dolphin Discovery, an interactive encounter with dolphins. This was a surprise for Courtney, she has always wanted to swim with dolphins, so here we are!
Dolphin Discovery - Cancun in the horizon
We spent an hour in the water with the dolphins, kisses, hand shakes, swim, dance, play... It was a fabulous experience with these lovely and gentle creatures. After our encounter with dolphins we spent the rest of the day pool side just relaxing. Ok, no pictures, but cameras were not allowed. We paid $d 109 per person, included dolphin encounter, open bar, open buffet all day, and two fresh water pools, if you want pictures they take plenty at $d 35 each.
