Crash....

The excitement never ends, our boat was hit by another sail boat. A 40ft Beneateau docked next to us rammed our stern as they pulled out, on a windless morning and at slack tide (no current), 10 tons at 3kts tearing at my davits, tender and outboard. The spreaders caught our davits and he never slowed down or stopped. It was painful watching this and not able to fend them off.

bent davit frame
crack between deck and gunnel

Estimate for repairs at $3,000.00. Fortunately they had insurance to cover damages.

It was bad, but there is always someone else worst off than we are. This poor soul lost his boat at the dock.

The "For Sale" sign makes you wonder... but it appears he went under finger pier causing it to take on water. The boat was refloated after a days effort by Boat US.

On a positive note, there is never a dull moment around here. We have been helping out in activities for charity, the leukemia foundation, kids fishing rodeo and food pantries.
