Atlantic is active....

August/September are the peak hurricane season and so we now have plenty of action in the Atantic. Most rescent  is invest 99l, currently east of Cuba and heading our way, models are all over the place, but none the less it has great potential.

Needless to say we need to prepare and be ready. We have been following this storm for several days and it seems to be having a hard time getting organized, looks like CAT1 at the most, so have decided to stay at dock and prepare for surge potential of 5 to 6 feet and high winds. We will keep a close eye on it, if it gets stronger we might have to head up the Apalachicola River, a days sail from here, and find a safer place to ride out the storm.

Stay tuned for the results, Gulf water temperature 80's, if it sits in the Gulf for any length of time all bets are off.
